We want to give you the best possible experience when visiting Malmö and the region, so we have made a whole list with recommendations from those of us who work here. Unique destinations that not everyone is aware of, but which we love to enjoy. Put simply, your “Bucket list of Malmö”. They are not prioritized in any specific order, they’re all great.

1: Ribban
Discover the beach oasis of the Malmö locals, “Ribban” or Ribersborgsstranden as it is officially called. Besides sun and swimming, there’s an amazing beachfront promenade with cozy kiosks and open-air cafes. There’s also a visitor’s centre, an open-air bath, a brand new mini golf course and even an outdoor gym, obstacle course, etc. Go there by bike and enjoy, it’s only a 20-minute bike ride from Malmö Arena Hotel.

2: Slottsträdgårdens kafé
The Slottsträdgården café is a very cozy place, with both great food and baked goods, in a charming setting. Some evenings they even put on entertainment. The café is located right in the middle of central Malmö and it’s easy to go there by bus, train or bike. Make sure to have a lovely walk in the beautiful park Slottsparken.

13: Walking tour in Kalkbrottet

Go on a guided tour and learn everything about the quarry’s history, geology, flora and fauna. Interesting for the whole family. Remember to book in advance. For safety reasons, you may not enter the quarry without a guide. It’s only a small fee per person.

15: Hedmans krog

Take a trip along the south coast and stop off to enjoy a fantastic lunch at the charming pub Hedmans krog (tuesday-friday during the summer). They serve gourmet food cooked with the very best local ingredients. The thatched-roof cottage is from the early 19th century, and the pub also has a cozy outdoor dining area. Hedmans is located in Västra Torp, very close to Smygehuk, which is the southernmost point in Sweden, only 40 minutes away from the hotel. A must-see for foodies!

Bike to Lilla Sjötorp right outside Klagshamn and eat Swedish Tapas and taste wine from Klagshamn’s vineyard. Lilla Sjötorp has a large outdoor dining area. It’s about 30 minutes away by bike and 15 minutes by car.
